Interesting - there's a thread in there entitled "Self diagnosed people here don't have aspergers". I think there's a common thread of accusing people who identify themselves (rightly or wrongly) as being different of simply jockeying for attention or validation. I'm curious what the motivation for this is.

Actually, he doesn't. Banning anyone is very much the last thing he wants to do. Most Aspies have their off days (weeks, months or years). Throwing them out isn't supportive - of them. You can figure out the rest...

Welcome Myrkabah. Thought I'd better join the reinforcements offering support.
Must admit I can't figure out why certain members decided out of the blue to make
you feel about as welcome as an iceberg on a cruise ship !
I think the ability to self-diagnose is underestimated. It's not something that can
be done without a lot of research and consideration by all means, but sometimes
you can instinctively recognise if you fit the criteria. No one can argue that a formal
diagnosis isn't preferable, but it's not always practical to obtain one.

Even if I had ~hated~ "Neurotomy", which I didn't, I quite liked it, you'd still be just as welcome in my books, Myrkabah. :) My son and I both have diagnoses, but obtaining them was more of a formality than a necessity. And why should anyone treat us differently depending on whether they know we have DXs or not? "Children, can you say 'petty discrimination'? -- I knew you could." (/Mister Rogers voice)

Hehe. This thread has taken a definite uphill turn! Thanks. :)

They are both on a specific and intentional campaign to attack and discredit people who diagnose themselves. See here and here.

I couldn't tell you what the reasoning there is.

Hello! I recall I asked which gaming consoles you have, if any, and I said I have two PS2s, a PSP (soon to be two) and a PS3.

Maybe I should say that I'm likING "Neurotomy". Love the banjo that comes in around the 25-minute mark.

I remember. :) I actually answered, but it got lost in the shuffle around page 3. I'll post again below - I could see how it could have been missed.

I just have an Xbox for a console at the moment - once I managed to pick up a decent gaming PC, I didn't really invest in the new generation of consoles. I really want to get a Wii, and actually went to pick one up last year, but didn't manage to find one. I'll have one soon! Then I can play Zelda!

Cool! I'm a person who sticks with Sony, mainly because I grew up with it as a kid without knowledge of the N64 until the PS2 was out! 8O

I like Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper and the SSX series the most.

Hehe, I think that's one of the most popular tracks that I have ever played! Everyone who's listened to it has specifically mentioned liking it.

It's called "Greedy", and it's by a collaboration of Israeli artists called "The Chemical Crew".

Ah, see, I was but a wee little gamer when the NES first came out in 1985, so it's so ingrained with my perception of games that I still sometimes refer to playing games on other systems as "Playing Nintendo".

I like the Street Fighter series, Fallout series, SNK fighting games, Zelda, System Shock, Splinter Cell, Final Fantasy, and the Total War series the most. :)
