That's not a valid link - it will only work for you on Facebook.

I love the pose and expression--and is that Edie Sedgwick on your avatar? I read her biography when I was a teenager, and my mom used to work as a housekeeper for her family's mansion (Edie had died by then).

Ha, thanks - that's my natural state: criss-crossed, open-mouthed and completely distracted.

Yes, it is Edie Sedgwick. I just cut off all of my hair again; every time I do, I get her jagged pixie. I became briefly, but intensely, obsessed with her when I hit a rough patch in my early teens. She's the only model / it-girl I adore.

Your mom was a housekeeper in the Sedgwick mansion?! 8O. Their California estate, I'm guessing...? That is super cool. I might have to PM you and find out more about that, haha.

Haha, I also got briefly obsessed with Edie as a teenager. Her story is so tragic.

I don't know much about the Sedgwick estate--the only story my mom ever told me was that she would hear the cook (he had a separate little outdoor slaughter room) slaughtering the rabbits, and they would scream like children. Also, she said that Edies family denied a lot of the stuff in her biography, and a lot of stuff claimed about her during that time (the drugs and sex etc.).
