I created my first video blog today! I just rambled on and on about stupid stuff.

In the next one, I'll talk more about my Autism, and how it affects my life.

So have I.

Try taking a couple of your special interests and just ramble on and on about them. You will mess up, stumble, stutter, whatever. That's okay. Say some things multiple times, so you can get it right.
Take Windows Movie Maker and cut out all the bad parts of the video. Piece it all together, and you've got yourself a nice video.

Do you think I really sound as articulate in real life as I sound in the videos I've posted?
You're not seeing all of the stuttering, brain farts, and mistakes I'm making. As you can see, my videos are nothing but a series of short clips.

I also have an immense mental script that I follow. The script is for the longer clips.

i went on a holiday to ballina once, and a person at work asked me to take a video of the scenery and post it so she could see it.
she said the video was a bit disappointing as i did not really focus on things that people would usually show, and it sounds like i am arrogant and unfriendly (she only knew me by email correspondence until then, and had never heard my voice).
but that is my normal voice.

I take it that's in Australia. My hometown in Ireland has the same name. Ballina = Beal an atha = Mouth of the shallow waters [/interesting fact]

^ Your doing okay man really. How long you been skateing for? Seriously, if your enjoying it, keep it up. Its a good hobbie. I've personally tried skating and i sucked at it. I'd never try ollie up a gutter like i think you just tried. Because skating seemed hard for me, i instead took up BMXing, and its pretty much what my life has revolved around for the past 10 + years. I might post up a video later. Don't get too beaten up by your progress though. For the first few years i was dreadful but still made sure i enjoyed myself. With these kind of non-mainstream extreme sports, progress often takes a LONG time to occur, but as soon as you learn how to do one thing, everything else just falls into place. Skating like BMXing is a skill which i believe requires predominantly good technique, much more over strength, endurance, flexibility and what not. The coordination will come. There is no such thing as someone stepping on a board and ripping it. I have yet to see this. The 'ollie' which you were achieving most the time if i saw right, is all a technique your learning through experience. Next thing once you no longer have to think to consciously about it, your sub-conscious will take over and given that you've had greater experience as a result, you will most probably find the only thing that will control your limits is your mind and confidence. This takes time and patience though, but if you really indulge in it obssessively and partake in this leisure religiously many hours a day, it could be just a few years till you will be watching the pro's and ACTUALLY understanding what they are thinking and feelings and HOW they have to go about executing these stunts. Extreme sports are crazy. No one around where i live seems to understand them. Most the time people shrug it off. Anyways above all, make sure your having fun. And if your able to skate alone alot then meg kudo's to you.

How do you record a video with a webcam? And my webcam is built into the computer already. I'd like to make one, but won't make one about nothing, that wouldn't work :?
