Kittenfluffies,

What is your favorite type of cat? I love them all, but my favorites are tabbies and Siamese. I especially love Lynx (tabby) point Siamese.

I love all cats too! I have an orange tabby named Gahiji-Ra (Egyptian: "sun hunter") I never really had a favorite breed until I rescued a litter of Japanese Bobtails who lost their mother in a car accident. I used to work in an animal shelter, so I bottlefed and hand raised orphaned kittens all the time. Anyway, I had this litter of kittens and they just had the best personalities ever, and they are absolutely adorable. When they were teeny tiny they looked like little bears with cow-spots, so I called them the Spotted Cow Bear Posse :)

I adopted one of the kittens out into a great home, and then ended up keeping the rest. Their names are Crusader Kitabit, Rumpamuffin, and Butters (in honor of the South Park character of course). They are my children. I have a framed 16x20 picture of them hanging in my room. Nobody effs with my babies.

My obsession?

Red Dwarf, the all-time classic Britcom. I have all the episodes on VHS (including the Smeg-Ups and Smeg-Outs) and a model of the Series 8 Red Dwarf ship.

Kittenfluffies,

I think Japanese Bobtails are cute! I came to love Siamese because Samantha was a Siamese. She too, lost her mother when she and her brothers and sisters were very little kittens. I love Lynx points and all striped kitties because of her.

Chess and chess history
Animals
People over 2.2m tall
Body modification
Comic books and comic art
Word and number play. For example, for years as a teenager I would take note of the ratio of vowels to consonants in someones name. A ratio greater than 1 is quite uncommon BTW.

There are other less intense/specific interests of course, this list is not in any way exhaustive.

My son's obsession is Thomas the Train. Nothing else - he reads and studies the inserts to the packages more than he actually plays with them, but we have thousands of dollars of Thomas (movies, books, toys -wooden, electric, take-alongs, clothes, etc.). He's six, and he's loved Thomas since he was two and a half. He's never enjoyed anything else near as much. That's what actually began the journey to Asperger's!

That's interesting :)

Major Obsession: Classical Guitar

Minor Obsessions: Motorcycles (specifically Triumphs), American and international politics, financial markets, English Premiere League Soccer, and baseball (especially statistics, or the Red Sox).

Previous Interests included: reptiles, punk musicians, and African plains animals. (None of these are as strong now)

I know a lot of you enjoy certain types of math, my specialty is statistics (especially probabilities).

I love lexicography, or any other word-related pursuits.

Cartoons are great (The usual list--Simpsons, South Park, King of the Hill, etc...)

Used to have a strange obsession with "The Breakfast Club". I memorized the entire movie, and would recite it to myself in school.

I'm a list maniac, I even compile a list of the lists I need to make.

That's most of the major stuff. Some of it is fleeting, I used to be INSANE about reptiles, I converted my room into a terrarium, and had many snakes, turtles, lizards, and breeding pens. Now, I don't give it a second thought, but for a couple of years, it was all I cared about.

The stuff at the top of the list has tended to stand the test of time though...
