sounds like everything I have been told... but, i am not looking for a cake walk. I wanna get the hell out of my house and earn my independence and have another shot at schooling and learn a more applicable skill.

I can dig where you're coming from :) the marines will definitely be an experience. if you wanna see a sample of what they have been known to do to trainees, watch "an officer and a gentleman."

LA seems to have its own little self-contained underground "comedy punk" scene which I guess was started back in the '80s by bands like Green Jello.

Would the Aquabats be part of that group?

Good question. I've been a card-carrying Aquacadet since 2002, but the Aquabats aren't part of that particular scene (though they did play with The Radioactive Chicken Heads back in the day). They used to be primarily and thoroughly engrained with the Orange County ska/ska-punk scene, and while they still occasionally play with some of those bands, since the mid-2000s, they've become strictly headliners who play with a rotation of semi-mainstream punk, pop-punk and alt rock bands, and they usually play big fests like Warped. Definitely more in the general So Cal punk/pop-punk scene, and definitely not "underground" anymore.

Actually, I bought it with the intent of wearing it for a band I plan on forming. The only thing missing is a giant foam-rubber pompadour, but I'm working on that.

I had to include the second one, because it's not really me if there's not at least one animal waiting for me to pay attention to them.

nice couch/sofa :thumright: are those leafy patterns? we used to have a leafy pattern couch (it was significantly darker) until it got thrown out and worn out...

and that's quite the hair you've got there :) i'd have to bleach mine a whole bunch of times to get it that bright.

The couch is this circa 1970's floral print...it's a bit too much for me. But my husband likes it, and I usually have something covering the print up.

...I remember a neato tacky sofa print my mother had in the 70s I always wanted something like it . Of course , I'm totally homeless and even a nice table and chair combo is a novelty . SOB .
