Rifled slug at 100 meters. Camera is at the target's end (a water bottle), and a little above it.

It's a waste of ammo using it on zombies. :) They ain't all that scary.... It was my first attempt at 100 meters, which isn't all that far in the realm of shooting, but with the tiny bead sight on a shotgun, it's quite far (I put the camera at the target in the hopes of hearing the projectile hit before the muzzle blast caught up, since the projectile is moving faster than the speed of sound to 100 meters. 100 meters ain't far enough away, and the slug isn't all that fast anyway. If the speed of sound is 1100 feet per second or so, and the slug starts off at 1600 and ends up at around 1150 at 100 meters; there's hardly any time for the camera to pick up the sonic boom of the projectile and then the muzzle blast at the shooting location as both will arrive at the camera at nearly the same time). I'll try it with my rifle at 300 meters.

psyche,

Ha, nah. A "rifled slug" is a solid projectile to be used in a smoothbore shotgun, effectively turning your usual "scattergun" into a short ranged and powerful large bore rifle.

Quote:
Load: Winchester 2-3/4" 9 pellet 1-1/8 ounces at 1350 feet per second. Range: 10 meters. Weapon: Stock Stoeger Coach Gun firing through the modified chock. Effect: bottle was full of lead fragments, with two pellets remaining largely intact; lead fragments were scattered all around the bricks. Wad was in front of the bricks (bounced off). Brick missiles did nothing to the bottle. None of the lead exited the bottle (a 10 liter bottle). I'll try it with a properly made brick wall later on (see: cemented together). I think it may not hold up as well as it'll offer more resistance against penetration, but we'll see. I'll also try slugs (I kinda know how that'll turn out though).

Dear Ha ha ha ha ha,

My mind is going right now, because I'm under the... oh wait, can't say. Anyway, here's what happened. I thought because of all the plants in the background that I was watching the blair witch project. I can almost hear Mike and Heather. Then all of a suden your face comes and I'm like WAHHHH, blair witch! (Bear with me, the story has a happy ending) You just kept and talking (and since I have no sound on my speakers, I was freaked out that the blair witch talked to herself in this un-hearable voice. All of a sudden I realized that the blair witch isn't ugly AT All... I can't believe it I thought... she's actually pretty! Now I can't be scare when I hear her off camera!

I'm not hitting on you, and besides I'm laughing as I write this because I'm still spinning upstairs...

wolfmanjack,

Groovy. :)

I think his has a single trigger though if I recall correctly, rather than two like on the western/colonial period coach guns.
