Why are you here? I, all of my siblings, and most of my neices and nephews have been diagnosed with or show signs of AS. My daughter and I both are fibromyalgic narcoleptics. I would love to chat with AS people who have the same interesting makeup.

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): AS when I was about 6 or 7, then rediagnosed HFA when I was 10.

Favorite subjects: Math (took it last semester), Physics (took it last semester), Chemistry (am taking it this semester), Geoscience (am taking it this semester), French (am taking it this semester and took it last semester), Spanish (took it during the summer).

Year/Grade: Second year of college.

Favorite music: Whatever I can find on the radio.

Books: Non-fiction.

TV shows/Movies: I don't watch movies very often.

Why are you here? I strongly suspect I have AS. I took an Aspie test online and scored 145 out of 200. However, I am not sure if the test is accurate enough.

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): I've had this feeling ever since I was nine, but put it off for four years. I have recently read a book (yes, The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time by Mark Haddon) that reminded me of my disorder.

Favorite subjects: PE, geography, physics, art.

Year/Grade: In Year Nine.

Favorite music: Anything in English.

Books: The Animorphs series, The World Is Flat, the Artemis Fowl series, the Harry Potter series.

TV shows/Movies: I don't watch TV. However, I liked She's The Man, Chicken Run and Minority Report.

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): With the help of people close to me... Asperger's on my 23rd b-day...last week. Dysthymia along with Hypothyroidism(as if my metabolism wasn't fast enough as it is) about 1.5 years ago(a doctor/chiropractor that I talked to for 5 minutes).

Favorite subjects:In HS I did really well in Band(of course), my senior English class(really great teacher), and my senior science class called Space and Space Tech. I guess I've always had a passing interest in Astronomy. Other than those classes, I performed horribly in school, although I could have been at the top of my class.

Year/Grade:In transition...should I study music and end up in a van down by the river, or instrument repair and have a second steady job that I like?

Favorite music: Lots of metal during and after HS. My parents were friends with alot of musicians when I was younger, so I was raised on a healthy diet of Folk, Bluegrass, and pretty much anything else they played. Right now my favs are: Opeth, VNV Nation, The Decemberists, Coheed and Cambria, and Nickel Creek/Chris Thile.

Chris Thile is pretty much my favorite mythological musician*pauses*pretty much.

Books:Stranger In A Strange Land by Robert Heinlein...never really understood why I related so much to Valentine Michael Smith until I stumbled upon Asperger's. Anything else by Robert Heinlein. Anything Neil Gaiman, especially Sandman. The other Sci-Fi masters: Asimov, Bradbury, Edgar Rice Burroughs. Clive Barker, Piers Anthony, Douglas Bradley. The Dystopias.

TV shows/Movies: Try not to get sucked in to TV: X-Files, StarTrek, anything Joss Whedon(esp. Firefly), Sliders...pretty much Sci-Fi....Mythbusters/Discovery Channel. Movies: Sci-Fi, horror, psychological. Kubrick, Romero, Dario Argento, Lucio Fulci. The Matrix trilogy, Sin City, Dark City, Stargate, LoTR.

Instrument: I generally answer this question as such: "anything but Irish harp and highland bagpipes". Only because those are the only ones I have absoutely no desire to play. I guess I play guitar and mandolin most often. I'd play clarinet/sax more if I could get the whole transposition thing down. I can't claim to be a savant; but if you give me an instrument and half an hours time, I can figure it out/teach myself...usually even down to technique. No perfect pitch for this guy, but I've got really good ears.

Do you like sports? Somewhat. Not a huge fan, but I'll watch hockey if it's on. I'll drop everything and run for the chance to catch some Rugby(New Zealand All Blacks are the epitome of sport...they really go to battle out there). I attempt to play roller hockey in a league on my dad's team, but I'm really not very athletic.)

Family:Huge. I belong to a very prominent Irish Catholic family in Columbus. My grandfather and my uncles was/are(respectively) known for being very outgoing and very social(in fact, one of them has always played the leprechaun in the St. Pat's parade). That side of my family is also known for it's athleticism...so I'm definitely an oddball with them. I can't even count all of my cousins(on both sides of my family combined).

Both parents happily remarried. 3 sisters, 2 step-sisters(1 with a youngun-my nephew).My older sister is engaged to be married in October(she had actually mentioned to my mom that she thought I might have AS 3 or 4 mos. ago, before I even knew about it.)

Clothing: Pretty simple. Jeans and a t-shirt(generally a black band shirt). A hoodie if I'm cold.

Job: Soundguy. Live, recorded....all things audio. Sometimes the live stuff gets to me, but only sudden loud noises. I need a break after about 45 minutes to reset my brain, I have flipped out on one band for not understanding this.

Plans for the future? Start an AS support group IRL. Go back to school. Do more live recordings. Actually record/release music I've written. I'd really love to work on a cruise ship...doing sound.

Why are you here? I am pretty sure that I have Asperger's, though I'm not diagnosed.

When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): I was supposed to be tested a few months ago, but I blew it off. My school therapist told me he would contact me, and didn't. Such things I take as signs.

Favorite subjects: I'm a grad student in Computer Science, but I have a degree in Philosophy as well. I probably am most interested in History, especially military. I also am interested in Political Science, Mathematics, geeze the list just goes on. Whatever I don't have to be doing at the time.
