And a lovely lullaby...

There's a monster that lives ‘neath your bed,
Oh for crying out loud -
It's a futon on the floor,
He must be flat as a board

There's a creature that lurks behind the door
Though I've checked there 15 times
When I leave then he arrives
Every night

Tell the monster that lives ‘neath your bed
To go somewhere else instead
Or you'll kick him in the head

Tell the creature that lurks behind the door
If he knows what's good he won't come here no more
Cause you'll kick in his butt at the count of four

Goodnight demon slayer, goodnight,
Now it's time to close your tired eyes;
There are devils to slay and dragons to ride -
If they see you coming, hell they better hide,
Goodnight, goodnight, goodnight

Goodnight, my little slayer, goodnight

Tell the monster that eats children, that you taste bad
And you're sure you'd be the worst that he's ever had
If he eats you, don't fret, just cut him open with an axe
Don't regret it, he deserved it, he's a cad

Tell the harpies that land on your bed post
That at the count of five you'll roast them alive;
Tell the devil its time you gave him his due -
He should go back to hell, he should shake in his shoes,
'Cause the mightiest, scariest, creature is you

Goodnight, demon slayer, goodnight,
Now it's time to close your tired eyes,
There are devils to slay and dragons to ride -
If they see you coming, hell, they better hide
Goodnight, goodnight, goodnight
Goodnight my little slayer goodnight

I won't tell you there's nothing ‘neath your bed,
I won't sell you that it's all in your head -
This world of ours is not as it seems,
The monsters are real, but not in your dreams;
Learn what you can from the beasts you defeat,
You'll need it for some of the people you meet

Goodnight, demon slayer, goodnight
Now it's time to close your tired eyes,
There are devils to slay and dragons to ride -
If they see you coming, hell they better hide
Goodnight, goodnight, goodnight
Goodnight, my little slayer goodnight

Goodnight, goodnight, goodnight
Goodnight

- Voltaire, "Goodnight, Demon Slayer"

Hi, Helen! :D Thank you and you aren't too late. This has been one of my two best birthdays and it is largely because of the amazing people on WP.

The birds in your yard are absolutely beautiful!! And I may take you up on that offer in the future. I have always wanted to see Australia but didn't know anyone until now.

Great! Well you'd have my place to experience 'the bush'. Mum lives near the beach.

I asked Lau whether he'd fly out to visit us in Australia ..... but he said he's arms would get too tired!

  That sounds just like Lau!! I think a visit to Australia would have to be at least 2 or 3 weeks to be able to see you, your mom and Sleepydragon.

Lets all plan to meet in Australia by planning our trips to arrive together? We could take them all unawares and eat them out of house and home!

that is interesting.

I will have to pick it up some other time, though, as I am going to bed.

Goodnight, all. Sweet dreams.

Sounds great!

But first I would have to go to the local electrical store and get empty refrigerator boxes.

Everyone would be assigned their own box - they could hide anytime they wanted!

I did enjoy meeting a few other WrongPlanet members in London.

My contribution is either a day late or 364 days early. I won't say on which birthday I congratulate you, so I can maintain plausible deniability.

So:
Would you like to celebrate your birthday with Grandma?

Turn over a new leaf. Be assertive with your offspring, like Grandma

You made a smart choice, getting out of the babysitting business just in time.

Winter is not yet over in your parts. Beware of widlife:
