Hello I came to be here from a wiki page after being told about ASD and thought I would check it out, and as I read further it started to really play on me and as I saw a link to this site I thought why not sign up it cant hurt.
well I signed up and I read a few posts and saw there was a quiz you can take so I took it just now and this is the answer I got so I thought I would post it;
Your Aspie score: 168 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 59 of 200
You are very likely an Aspie
LSAS-score: 113 of 144
You have very severe social phobia

I am not sure if this is bad or good or whatever so I was hoping that someone would read it and reply and help me get the ball rolling on whatever I should do next.
I spose I should tell you a bit about me as well, well I am 22, and for many years now the little 'quirks' I have have started to play on my friends and they have all been trying to find out why I do the things I do, of which I have no answer I see nothing wrong with how I live except the whole going out thing (as in I dont do it) and when I do have to go out somewhere I am usualy inside my own head when Im there, the thing is that inside I put voices to people and they are saying things and it really gets to me, like someone will look at me but I will try and avoid making further contact as I dont know them nor do I wish to.
I have been called many things in my time like depresive, some say I have OCD, some just call me weird, I have only a handfull of close firends and I tend not to go with them if they go roung one of their friends houses as I just feel uncomfortable and are trying to find excuses to leave to just get home.
I dont enjoy many things but what i do enjoy i could sit and do for days (and have done many a time) like computers, I have sat there for almost a week at a time not moving just building and stripping and rebuilding them.
I dont sleep very often and will sometimes go for upto 5-7 days without sleep, but when I do fall asleep it will only be for a few hours by no means a full nights sleep.
I know there is more but I would like to get some opinions on this before I dig any deeper.
Opinions on like what should I do? this is the first I have heard of this and really feel I need some help in finding out if I really have ASD.

J

Hi and Welcome to WP.

Your score 168 is identical to mine.

You can see my results online at my blog

As to whether it's good or bad - that depends on your point of view.
If you're happy with who you are, then it's all good.
If you just want to be "normal" then, it's not so good.

It does mean that you're quite likely to be aspie - the RDOS test is surprisingly accurate.

Now that's a good start.

These are all facets of aspergers. You might really have OCD as well but more likely, you have a commorbid which is sort of a co-condition with aspergers. It's not the same as OCD by itself. I personally have massive OCD tendencies - I've got too many DVDs books etc, all catalogued, covered, etc... I wash my hands carefully but you won't find me scrubbing my skin off (ala Howard Hughes).

Aspies have special interests - computers is a common one and you'll find lots of like-minded people here on WP. I'm into computers as well.

Sleep is for tortises. Aspies often have sleep issues. It's normal. (as btw is depression).

Welcome to Wrong Planet... It sounds to me like you've found the right planet.

BTW: My blog (in my signature) will give you a lot of info on the various aspects of aspergers. If you're interested.

My point of view is nothing like 'I need to get help' as i like how i have things.
And i dont really see much in trying to be normal, I would much rather have quirks than be another drone, as it were.
I get you on the organising, omg the days spent organising stuff, trading cards was my big one, I woulld collect all that I could so i now have 100's of thousands that I will just sit there and sort into orders, put them in shoeboxes and the like and have little tabs with what that stack is.
I also like to sort screws and nails, my dad is a builder so when it comes to sorting his van its great, I sweep all the bits off the floor into a box and just go to town on em, end up with an organised box of screws and stuff and save a bit of money in the fact he doesnt have to throw them away.
All of my belongings are kept in pristine condition. You know the scratch protecting film you get on things? Well all of my things still have that even even things from well over 10 years ago, but again I dont really find that a burden as it just keeps my stuff looking darn nice. I dont have any of the personal cleaning habits but i do like items to be in clean.
And god forbid someone should move something, I mean pick it up and look at it by all means but put it in the wrong place you will know about it.
Also on the OCD front I have quite a few other things like, I have to burn the whole match, as in when it starts to burn i swap hands by holding the burnt end and finish burning the other end.
or like I tap the bottom of a cup or mug when I pick it up to have a sip/gulp.
The cup thing tho my friend told me she noticed it about a week or so back, so thats a question I have, Can you pick up new quirks just like that with no warnings?
Because i didnt notice it but she is a very close friend and we talk about most things and she observed it for a few days and then told me.

I thank you all for the welcomes
And look forward to.... Well as you say 'the journey'.

It's true, I have had friends take it who are extreme intraverts and one who is ADHD/mild social anxiety disorder. The extreme intraverts were on the NT side (lacking in the social component (obviously)) and the one who is ADHD was found with elements of both ASD and NT, which definitely seems of the people with ADHD (many stim and such). The questions are quite well formed (apart from the one about traps???). I think that it should be a general test for ASDs instead of just saying an Aspie test, but....

anyways, to the OP, welcome to Wrong Planet.

Well I answered this question as though, do you like to set mental traps to catch people out.
I like the test is the only one that has gone into more detail in the questions but still felt like many of them could have been worded better, but again thats another thing I do, which is to use literal meaning and technicalities, I like things to be worded right, sometimes I can see what they are trying to say, But I like to be literal like this, Person asks; "have you got a lighter" My reply "yes". And nothing more, Untill they say "can i borrow it". Its more for the fact of things should be worded right not worded generally.
Is this..... I dont know is this just me being annoying?
