Hi everyone, I am a 21-year-old male who was recently diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. The book that I received with the diagnosis, Tony Atwood's "Complete Guide to AS," explained my inner struggle in a way I never imagined possible. I am currently on the road to recovery from polysubstance dependency, and I joined this community in hoping to find a support group who understands what's going on for me more than all the psychiatrists and whatnot that I've been forced to see. Can't wait to start exploring the forum and see what this place is all about!

I e-mailed Tony Atwood and, like many he didn't reply! Use my name!

I'm pretty new to this board myself, but welcome :) I think I'm going to check out some of the books that people here have been mentioning if I get a chance to pass by the bookstore tomorrow.

I would like to thank everyone right off the bat for the supportive and welcoming atmosphere. And as far as my name goes, it comes from introspection about my own personality as well as my studies of spirit/totem animals when I lived in the wilderness!

Welcome.
I have deep respect for anyone who can homestead/live in the wilderness.

Irasshai, Moose-san. Incidentaly, I saw two moose in the Medicine Bow mountain ranges today. One was a big male who got spooked off when these jackasses on ATV's went roaring by. The other was a youngling who let us get within 50 feet of him in our truck to snap a picture.

Neither of them were on fire, though.
