Hi, I just joined this group today. I'm Lee btw.

Its amazing...all my life I've kind of known I never fully fitted in with the world. I hadnt even heard of Aspergus Syndrome till very recently and the more I read about it, the more it struck a chord. There were so many symptons I read and thought...'my god, thats me!'. There were some that didnt, but most of them did.

To sum up I've always had problems fitting in socially and always been very withdrawn. Even among people with common interests I always felt like the odd one out of the group...very quiet (except after a few drinks when I go the complete opposite!), very blunt and honest about my likes and dislikes, clumsy and forgetful, always obsessing over whichever particular thing I'm most interested in at the time. The theres the social side...difficulty with eye contact and extreme difficulty using peoples names, panicky in groups of people...I could go on and on lol

Anyway I've done the Aspie test and it looks very much like I do have it having scored 131 out of 200. I only wish I knew about this before!

Thanks I will definitely look at those...either way whether it is AS or just social inadequecy brought on by some other reason, I'm finding a hell of a lot on here I'm relating too. It kind of a nice feeling I'm not the only one for a change.

I'm glad to say that here we are no longer the "odd one out". :D Welcome aboard Lee!

Yep. its great finally feeling part of a group and also I feel I could talk about things on here that I'd feel really stupid talking about to most people I know!

I did the other test and got 34 out of 50 on that one! plus I have or (have had in the past) 27 of the 30 symptons.

I do wonder if knowing all this is going to change my life in someway though, but its still good to know what it could be at last.

It not about changing your life, but having a better understanding of self, accepting, allowing is the key and with me I found it help me not only understand why I do and act in a certain way, also how I at times impact on others...

Thats the thing...I'm looking at the past in a completely new light now and seeing things from a different perspective. Things that people have accused me of doing for attention for instance, all seem to have a reason now. I'm still not 100% certain I have it and I'm not even sure if I see a benefit to a diagnosis at this point, but the understanding I'm finding is well worth having. There is a chance that my symptons may have been brought about by external life experiences but they seem to have ended in a same end result either way.
