Not officially new, but practically so

Hi folks,
I joined WP way back in 2007, intending to become an active participant. As it goes with most forums I decide to frequent, it didn't turn out this way. IN this case, the reason was however different from the usual fact that I join more fourms than I can keep up with on a regular basis. I was at the time a college student diagnosed with ASD and also blind. I am still autistic (although the label was changed to Asperger's, but I don't believe in different ASDs for adults) and still blind, but I am no longer in college. I dropped out in early Nov of 2007.

The support system for autistics without intellectual disabilities in the Netherlands sucks as much as it does everywhere, so that when you can't cope with living independently, you are pretty likely to fall between the cracks. As a result, I was hospitalized in Nov of 2007, and have been a part of the institution population ever since. At my current place, as you can tell, I have an Internet connection, so I decided to go back to WP and see how it's going.

My main hobby is the internet, but having endured no connection at a former place and recently two computer crashes in two months, I can survive without the web for a while. Other hobbies include reading non-fiction, writing, listening to music on occasion (folk and Tom Lehrer), yoga, and spending time with my boyfriend - although one'd better call that a passion. Ah, what else? Well, no idea really.

Hehe no, it's neither cold nor dark. It's summer here, and today it's sunny and about 75-80_F.
