I'm Red Eagle and I joined this outfit to get to know some aspies like me and get some help dealing with it.

I'm a Cherokee Indian Man with some scotish background and a litte german mixed in. I'm a historian by training and work in New Orleans. I'm a Christian who has been trying to come to grips with Aspergers syndrome for years. I'm single (in fact I just got the door slamed on me again) stright and 28 years old and frankly sick of being alone. I'm a Military historian I study war and at times i've seen more than I want to of it but I keep it up becasue I feel its important for someone to tell the tale good and bad. I have two brothers and my parents are still together and none of them has aspergers, I get a lot of suport from them but they cant understand me because of the differances in minds. My friends all keep me at a distance, save one, because they sense somethings different with me. I cant watch movies or listen to live music because they overwhelm me and cause me pain so i'm left out of a lot of stuff. I haven't meet anyone like me and haven't flashed a smille in a long time. I hope I can find something here.

Welcome RedEagle, I hope you find the support your looking for, I hope you can smile soon, it feels great to have a reason, but it's fine if you don't have a reason. I fake smile a lot, and I don't remember what a genuine smile feels like.

Oh! Someone else with the music thing too! Great to see you here. I was getting so tired of all the "Music is my SOUL" and "I would die without music" and blah blah blah. I mean, I TRULY LOVE music, don't get me wrong, but it is very difficult to hear something that sticks in my mind so much. Last time I was in this department store in Japan and they kept playing this damnable jingle. It STILL follows me around.

Do you find that when you find a new song you like you have to listen to it like 100 times before it lets you go? Sometimes I feel like I'm a slave to it. Playing with rhythm and harmony and improvements and improvisations, etc. over and over again in my head. Gawd!

Oh, I'm also something like 95% Scottish (if one can really, honestly state something like that). Mom and Dad. The other 5% is... uh... mutt, essentially. A whole mix of things.

Anyhow, I'm very curious to know more about you.

Osiyo, Red Eagle!

I'm Matoskaokiye, 26 years old, straight. Mixed background including German and Italian. My username is Lakota (Sioux), meaning "White Bear Helps Him". It sounds like we have a lot of interests in common (history, American Indian culture, military/war history). I hope to talk to you soon.

By the way, my first post here.

Welcome to WP, both of you!

I'm 1/8 Cherokee myself.

What's your particular expertise? I'm largely world war two. That said the first is taking my interest, largely to see what influenced the idea of the tank as an infantry support vehicle in the 30's. All very exciting 8)
