Hi, I'm Ian Cleary. I'm 16 years old and I was diagnosed with aspergers syndrome at the age of 12. I knew i had something, but because I have aspie syndrome very mild, I was told that I had ADD like my mom and younger sister. I cope very well with aspie syndrome and I seem normal most of the time but nobody's perfect and I have my aspie moments in high school. I am an einstein type aspie so I have a phenomenal IQ. I am obsessed with star wars, world cultures and languages, animals, and most recently i have found interest in dragons. I speak four languages including spanish(fluently), japanese(sorta), and mandarin chinese(it is really really hard so also sorta). I hope to learn romanian(my best friends mother tongue), tagalog(fillipino), and vietnamese next. When I graduate I will mostly likely study to become a marine biologist or translator. I have gotten almost completely out of my childish phase(I no longer watch cartoons except for star wars of course), but i still play with star wars action figures even if the stories I create around them are mature and involve genocide, extreme imaginary violence, and resisting against the galactic empire. I get along with children very well but with peers not so much. I have an adopted chinese brother who is 9 years younger than me but he's like my best friend and i love him to death. He too has a learning disabilty. Alright I'll stop ranting now 8O .

ShenLong, your title is LONG.
I've tried learning Chinese as well, and it's frigging hard. I've found that flashcards are helpful, but you have to take a very small group of characters at once and learn them very well before moving on. It also helps grouping them according to similar radicals. But it's still a headache to learn, especially when you live in a country where the universal language is not Chinese.

Man, I wanna go to China.
Or Japan. Or some other country where everything is so interesting and different.

Anyways, my post was LONG.
Welcome to WP! :D

shen long means divine dragon in mandarin. I also go by bai shen long or white divine dragon . I got the name from a combination of chinese words I know and my favorite boss in my favorite game Monster Hunter, The white fatalis. It is a god in a way in the games lore. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BO-mAY5Z8qY

I found it funny when I first learned what a dragon is called in Chinese, because these dragons at Chinese New Year festivals are the longest things ever. :P
Plus, it makes the word super-easy to remember.
