Hello,
I am newbie here. I am a teachers assistant who works with kids with all kinds of disabilities. For two years I worked in an Autistic program where kids who were everywhere on the spectrum. I am also a single mom of two kids, my son is 15 (diagnosed with ADHD) and my daughter is 12 (diagnosed with ODD). I haven't had a lot of experience with Aspergers and want to know more. I don't know if this sounds weird but I feel like my daughter might have Aspergers. I don't know if I just "woke up" or her actions are more obvious. I have read that some think that under the umbrella of Autism that ODD and ADHD among other diagnosis's go hand in hand. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it possible I missed signs of Aspergers before? Misdiagnosis? Just wondering if there is anyone else out there who might have had the same experience.

I read on the internet that a lot of people who are currently diagnosed with Asperger used to be mis-diagnosed with ADD/ADHD as well as OCD. I didn't hear about them being misdiagnosed with ODD though, but I guess that is possible, given that Asperger might share the angry outburst problem with ODD.

Hi, welcome. Why do you think your daughter has AS? Aspie meltdowns can look liek defiance indeed, and ODD rarely goes alone.
