A good few of us, if you count the UK.

I might have trouble fitting in with "normal" though, on most parameters.
(holding down a job and paying taxes might do, in the broad sweep of the population)

So you've bought into all of that anti-American BS, too? Oh no! Another brainwashed perfect replica of the "norm".

I know, really, what is with all the anti-Americanism around here lately? It shows up from about 50% of the new recruits, and it's rather annoying.

Please, we understand you're British, but the anti-Americanism is almost as pointless as the "goodbye, I'm leaving because of you guys or another member or blah blah blah" posts.

Didn't know USA was a continent. But I'm not from that sophisticated place so I'm sure I'm wrong.

I live in the USA, and I will agree that people here are by no means sophisticated, though many of them believe they are.

It is my opinion that true sophistication cannot be present if one is conscious of it.

A country so new as to have an amalgam of cultures, rather than its own distinctive feel, is still trying to find its own identity. The USA is one such country; though I believe the inhabitants are proud of being a "melting pot".

There are good things about the USA, of course; one generally never find so many independent people elsewhere, and freedom is greatly treasured here.
