Howdy ya'll, yeah I'm not from Texas but I totally was there before....for the layover.

Anyway, I'm really from the northwest and I mostly spent my childhood outside of Seattle. I now reside in Oregon, at the last stop (kudos if you get the title) before the Siskiyous. My real name is Mitchell/Mitch but I prefer being called Mussolini at least on the Internet. :)

My entire life I have been different, I never enjoyed homework past the third grade. I cannot remember what earlier homework was but I suspect there wasn't any. I never played the same genres of music as others, I grew up on and still like Fleetwood Mac, Santana, Queen, WAR, The Guess Who, Kool and the Gang, the Temptations, the Village People (The YMCA is awesome regardless of what anyone says), etc. Admittedly I play mostly House/Metal music these days but Disco never hurts. I cannot read political or philosophical works, it has to be summarized for me to understand it.

While other children were too busy not reading their bibles I was reading of the Romans. When the other kids were reading the latest article in some magazine I was reading of the American revolution and (much more heavily) Napoleon. I am now focusing on post Napoleonic Europe to the second and hopefully final World War. I never hated other people, my mother insisted on having me go to a day care that had more then just white kids. I still do not read much of the Middle Ages because of the mass hatred of the Jews, Muslims, and overall ignorance at the time.

The past few days of my life have been far from ordinary, I was attending my fifth year of high school from my previous lackluster performance educationally, but I was informed this past Friday, one month into school, that it was not possible for me to graduate this year. (Or ever in other words.) I was given two options, go to a mostly night vocational school or get my GED, with the school paying for the actual test. I chose to take the GED because the vocational school would not help me and I would rather take a test to prove the world I am not a moron.

Also, my girlfriend (two years this Jan 1!), who thankfully is graduating this year instead of the last, started to talk of Autism, myself not knowing much on this, she pointed out that I have many characteristics of Asperger's. I thumbed through the Wikipedia article on it, I was mostly in a state of shock, I felt like I was reading about myself. I found a 'Autism-Spectrum Quotient' test on Wired, and while it did say it is far from real medical advice, I scored high enough to warrant that I was likely on the Autism spectrum.

Blah blah blah, I hope that you guys are as nice as your web design implies. :)

I do have to ask, why is Autism Speaks shot down around here? Is it Chauvinistic towards austist people?

hi
I moved from Dredford to Salem, because Dredford is everything and more of what the name implies. I found one group for Asperger's Syndrome there and zero members of the health care profession that knew about Asperger's.
If you want the name of the woman that does the Asperger's meet up, I will be glad to PM you her email address.

Merle

P.S. I  Fleetwood Mac and am looking forward to their new album!

Howdy,

I actually like Dredford, it's calm compared to Seattle. I have a busy workload as it is but thanks for the offer about the meet up.

I haven't bothered to listen to anything but Rumors but I will sometime.
