Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to take the time to introduce myself.

I was very recently diagnosed with AS, which came about when my son was diagnosed with ASD (not too sure about the specifics) and I realized that many of the symptoms he was exhibiting applied to me as well.

I'm still trying to assimilate it all, I kind of feel like that guy in the movie (The 6th Sense?) where all sorts of unexplained things happen to him until he realizes that he is actually dead and everythings suddenly makes sense.

I stumbled on WP while researching the subject and have found it uniquely helpful in helping me to come to terms with our diagnoses.

Anyway, I'm sure I'll be aronud here for a while, so I'll just stick to the basics:

Age: 42

Gender: Male

Marital Status: Single (Divorced - ex-wife was NT)

Children: 2 - Boy 8yo (ASD) and Girl 4yo (NT Princess)

Location: Orange County, California, USA

Living situation: Living alone, employed.

Interests: Anything to do with nature, travelling, reading (non-fiction, classics), Disneyland (go figure...)

Looking forward to meeting everyone, and thanks for welcoming me.

Welcome to the diagnosed-north-of-40 wing of WrongPlanet!

Isn't it amazing that a condition that affects just about every aspect of one's life didn't even have a name until the early 80s? Before that, we were all just...different.

As you connect to our community, hopefully you will find many others that you can relate to, and the world will make at least a little bit of sense.

Again, welcome!

Hi and Welcome Grisha,

I was 37 when I was diagnosed.

I'm married with 2 children (both aspie).

You'll no doubt find a lot of common souls here.

Haven't you heard that autistic women have a tendency to look younger than they actually are?
