Hello there. I would like to apologize in advance for my disorganized post, I have a tangential train of thought.

I'm a gal from PA. I'm not dx'ed with AS, however, I am dx'ed with Bipolar2. I have a younger brother that is dx'ed AS and we share some traits/behaviors....hand flapping, toe walking, (I LOVED to rock and spin),obsessions..some social issues...mine were different.

I'm not a person to self dx. I don't trust my own judgment. So I just say "I don't know."

I do have a chance to get tested, but I'm not sure that if I was dx'ed, what that would mean? Closure? Relevant psychological help?

Fun things about me:

I love animals (probably more than people)

I like the "pictureisunrelated" site--I love random things

I like Star Trek

I look forward to meeting everyone. :)

That sounds like autism/ Asperger. In light of the fact that it has a very broad impact on person's life, it is possible that your bipolar is merely a side effect of AS that happened to have clinical significance.

What do you mean by "closure"?

I think I may have used the word improperly.

I think what I'm trying to say is that if I get dx'ed with AS, it may explain some of the formerly unexplainable issues. I would have something concrete and I could have peace of mind. However, if the test came back that I did not have AS, then I would at least have another rule out, but still not feel any closer to a resolution.

I think that's why I'm undecided. I don't want to go through all the psych testing to find out that there's nothing wrong with me.

I think waaaay too much. Hehehe

You like animals? I'm a cat! I really like humans, especially people with aspergers and high functioning autism.. sometimes I feel like I have aspergers. Nice to meet you!

Hi :)

I like the irony of your name considering your avatar. :D

I actually have a cat, a large calico named Toots. She's more like a dog though, waiting for me at the door when I get home.
