My name's Hannie, but my username is the_beautiful_mess.
I'm thirteen years old.
I live in the UK.
I love Sherlock Holmes, classic literature and lots of music. I like sunglasses and hats too.
I have frequent bouts of extreme anxiety and depression.
I have Asperger's Syndrome, as diagnosed on Tuesday 31st January 2012.
I'm not a spammer.
I'm new to Wrong Planet, and I just want to be sure that I have nothing to be ashamed of, and to know that there are other people like me.

Welcome to WP (: I see we both got different formalities of diagnosis on the same day :p

There's certainly nothing wrong with you. Don't think of AS as a DISability, but rather a DIFF-ability. You're different, but isn't everyone? All it means is you have different ability than an NT. you may struggle more (we all do), but we can still reach the same heights, the same goals, just in a little more time (:

My aspergers HAS prevented me from having social abilities and even confidence from constant bullying, but know what you do? Ignore them! They're only saying things to get a sense of self-worth out of the different people feeling bad.

Sorry about rambling xD But does the above situation sound much like what you're going through?

Welcome Hannie! I also love Sherlock Holmes and some classical literature, and I am writing a multi-genre/multiplot novel if that interests you. Aspergers is a difference not a disability as already mentioned. I find that anxiety is usually worrying about something I can do nothing or little about (the other definition seems to be doubt, and both definitions seem to coincide). Those are the times I do my best to be serene enough to accept the things I can not change, do my best to be strong enough to change the things, and do my best to get rid of my doubts by finding the truth. That is my well-meant advice from my perspective. Does any of that help?
