My real name is Veronica. I'm from America, but I hope to move to the UK when I graduate high school (2012). I wasn't diagnosed with Asperger's until six years ago, at age 10.
When I was young one, the occupational therapist I was working with thought I had an IQ of about 70. I didn't start speaking until I was 3, but I could read and do basic math at that age. When I started kindergarten, a year later than I was supposed to, instead of half day kindergarten, I was at school the whole day. During the morning, I was in a low functioning class. In the afternoon, I was in mainstream kindergarten with the other kids.
That year, my teacher discovered I didn't need special education. She tested my IQ and found it was at 126.
I was in special ed. only during homeroom from 4th grade to 8th grade for organisation and staying on task.
Now, I only have to check up with my special-ed teacher every couple of weeks.
I have a 3.1 GPA (I'm capable of a 4.0, but work is a four letter word to me). I'm also in band (clarinet player), choir (soprano), drama club (I've been compared to Helena Bonham Carter), French club, and AFS. When I was younger, I was in Girl Scouts (I was a top seller in my troop).
I like reading, drawing (even though I'm just average), Britain, Ireland, watching movies, acting (I want to be an actress), listening to most music (but NOT rap and Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana), writing stories, singing, and playing the clarinet.
Thank you for reading.
