I started to put "New troll here" (warcraft quote) for the title but I know just enough about forums to realize that sends the wrong message.

Anyway, I don't know if I have Asperger's or not (there's actually check box for that lol) and I'm too poor to afford to get looked at. I have several of the symptoms and have epilepsy (very mild and extremely rare seizure wise). I read some where that epilepsy cohabitates with autism in somewhere around 1/3 of the cases.

Anyway, epilepsy and probably apserger's was from my father. My mother used to get mad at me and say I was just like my father whenever I would start rambling on about some odd topic. My father left when I was 3 so the epilepsy and his rambling are about all I know of him.

I found out about apserger's a few years ago from a youtube vid and it was the first time I had heard all the strange things I do summed up under one name. After that I wandered the net doing research and found WrongPlanet. I'm not really here looking for someone confirm my suspicions or anything. Honestly, my plan was to lurk around a bit, gather some info and move on to the next source, but I keep wanting to respond to posts here. For me its kinda weird since I'm not a chatter or a forum type of guy (or even communicative).

Anyway, I hope its ok to wander in here and attempt the whole interactive thing, I don't really have a clue to the etiquette of forums. Also, forgive me if this post is a bit rambling (and forgive the excessive use of the word Anyway), Ive been up for about 20 hour.

"I got ax for you"
"What'chu wanna kill?"

Nah, I suppose using either of those "Troll quotes" wouldn't work so well either ;) (Warcraft ref, same unit for those thinking I've gone nuts suddenly)

Welcome aboard! How did you deal with epilepsy in the face of being a gamer? Aren't there a lot of twitchy/glitzy triggers in most of today's games?

Thanks for the replies.

As for the epilepsy, its very mild. No one even knows I have it. Flashing lights don't effect me or anything. I've only ever passed out from seizures 3 times, once when I was 5, 16 and 28. I wake up feeling like I'm drunk and shot up with adrenaline. The regular seizures just make me feel like I'm gonna hyperventilate.

Wow, though, I never thought about the flashing lights in games. I'm glad it doesn't effect me, I'd go nuts if I couldn't blow something up once a day (pixels I mean).

Hey Mazeut,

Welcome to Wrongplanet :D !

Feel free to post and make yourself feel comfortable :D glad you joined, this is a good site to find out if you really have aspergers or not.....

**You know if you get world of warcraft, do you have to pay for the online gaming or do you actually get it free?**

Thanks, much appreciated.

WoW (world of warcraft) cost 15 a month but you have to by the game separately. Its a bit on the carebear side (ie not challenging) but a good time sink. Decent intro to mmo's too. They were offering a 15 day trial a while back, not sure if its still there. I gave it up a while back myself, its a group oriented game and I mostly soloed.
