Hello everyone,
As you can obviously surmise, I am new here. I'm 18 years old and I was (finally) diagnosed with Autism(high-functioning) today. This looks like a pretty cool forum so I decided to join and see how I like it.

Would it be wrong to say congratulations?
I don't think it would, cause now you know exactly where you're difficulties are, and you can work on them.
And even better, it must give a great peace in the mind.

No, it's not wrong to say congratulations at all. As you stated, it's a very good thing to know exactly where my difficulties are and to be able to work on those difficulties...as well as being able to further cater to my strengths as well.

It's very nice to have some peace of mind about this, finally. I've been dragged through the mental health system for years and due to incompetence I never received a correct diagnosis until now.

Ha, so true. I just came from another autism community that *wasn't* welcoming or friendly at all...so I have to say this is a nice change.
