I've been here before, and posted a few messages. I have a completest attitude, however, and there's so much content here that my urge to read as many past posts as possible before contributing got in the way a bit. And there are a LOT of posts here. I've been lurking on and off ever since. I know I'll never catch up, so I've decided to just jump in.

In any case, I've not been formally diagnosed, but it's been suggested by a couple of my doctors that I set up an appointment with a head shrinker to figure things out. Problem is, making phone calls is one of my ginormous issues, which makes arranging appointments with new doctors difficult :p

Either way, aspergers seems a useful enough construct to explain most of my quirks/deficiencies/talents that I think a formal diagnosis is irrelevant (especially since they're not going to be able to "cure" it in any case, nor that I'd want them to) (and that I'm afraid it would have a negative impact on my insurance premiums and/or ability to immigrate to the US, where I am only a permanent resident).

Whatever. Cut the rambling. I'm a 28-yr-old, married, Canadian, Chicago-residing, sci-fi and internet nerd of the female persuasion, trying my best to become self-employed... and I'm happy to be here and be reading posts that just make so much more sense to me than what I've ever seen anywhere else. Diagnosis or not, this seems like someplace I "fit".
