Hey there. So I've been on a sort of self-discovery quest lately, and came across this site as I was researching ASD. This actually started with a psychologist's suggestion that I may have Asperger's, but I don't have an official diagnosis nor am I seeking one. I'm here because I've always felt there are very few people with whom I share a deep enough level of understanding to carry on lasting friendships or meaningful relationships, and I'd like to explore whether this could be related to AS and/or ADHD (my official diagnosis). That's probably best left for another section of the forum though, so for now... hi, everyone!

Another New Yorker...are you down in the BIG APPLE or in the beautiful countryside of Upstate New York? I live near the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. Around here, one has to love baseball...or American History, there is plenty of
that here, too.

Thanks so much for the replies, sign-waving emoticons and all. To Zsazsa, I'm from NYC, never liked the city to be honest but until the economy gets rolling again I'm pretty much stuck with it. We do have a baseball museum of sorts here as well, on 161st in the Bronx. Living history is my favorite kind.

Hi again! I'm amazed this thread is still going, lots of New Yorkers here it seems and I want to say hello and welcome to all of you as well.

Since I last posted on this thread, I've discovered that I was officially diagnosed with Aspergers as a child and didn't even know/remember, I've taken a job at a school for children with autism, and I'm going back to school for a masters in special education. This is one of the most helpful sites and communities I've come across online, and I hope you all find what you're looking for here on WP.

P.S. Atropine - I went to school at SUNY Binghamton and I know the area pretty well. Not many places to go out, but I met a lot of cool people there and I really had a great time.

Welcome to WP! I used to live in nyc - in Brooklyn. I lived there for 10 years. I finally extracted my husband, though and got out of there - it was waaaaay too overstimulating...if that makes sense in English.
