Hi Peter
I've had the same problem as you in terms of not being taken seriously, but I only approached one GP and she didn't believe me and I had to state my case and after that she told me to write a letter she could use as a referral. I believe I have AS but I'm not very persuasive or good at arguing a case, because I don't expect people to think I'm lying or exaggerating. I found it offputting and can't face being made to feel like crap again and am now looking for a private diagnosis. I suspect my 6 year old son has it too but I will go to the GP for him as he's more likely to be taken seriously. I wish you success with the funding issue and whereabouts you are on the scale. I'll be interested to know how it turns out. I'm from Kent and most services here seem to be for children only. I just don't have enough puff to fight!

Well today ive been diagnosed as "AS" thank you for replying , i understand how you feel and it must be hard with three kids. i would urge you to pursue it on behalf of your son as early intervntion is best for kids .,
There are other financial benefits such as dla (if u could do with the extra cash)
