Hi everyone,

I'm Leila, mother of a possible AS daughter who is aged 8. She's due for testing probably sometime in November (long waiting list in Canada). I'll probably post a more in depth thingus over on the parents board, but wanted to touch base here first.

This place is by far more refreshing than some of the other sites I've been going through, namely because I never really thought of my kid as being problematic or "sick", just not part of the majority. Since school is becoming an issue with her lately, I've decided to finally have her tested-- mostly in order to get the school system to recognize that she isn't really a sociable being. It's amazing how being an extroverted type is rewarded in this society. But I digress.

NT is a word I need to get used to in this forum. I'm a fangirl of some Jungian stuff so when I see "NT" I keep thinking "intuitive thinker" like myself, an INTP.
