Hi all,

Big thanks to Alex for setting up this resource, I feel that I can't talk to anyone in my real life about my Aspergers so being able to read/chat on here is a godsend.

I got diagnosed in November 2009 by a lovely man called Barry Holland in Runcorn, near Liverpool in the UK. And after a bit of searching am going to go to the 'Aspirations project' run by ASGMA in stretford Manchester. Also thinking of trying out the Tuesday evening social night run by Vicki Bliss in Lostock Hall near Preston.

Anyone else interested in going to either of these places? I can find the links if necessary.

I don't want to waffle on too much, sounding like I'm fishing for sympathy but it's a tough time for me at the moment. My older brother has OCD, my uncle must be on the spectrum somewhere but he's never been officially diagnosed, I have a very anxious mother (but maybe they all are) and apparently a great uncle who sounded very ASPIE and was disowned by the family and died in a workhouse (!).

My uncle has never had a job and never moved out of his mums house and is very disfunctional; I'm kinda scared I'm gonna end up just like him.

So at the moment I'm going through this weird 'identity crisis' like some sort of nervous teenager and it's getting me down quite a bit. I've got a full time job which I enjoy but no friends and no social life; been diagnosed with Social Anxiety long before I got diagnosed with Aspergers.

Anyway; if anyone ever wants to chat I would love that as I don't really have anyone else to talk to. Will happily give out my MSN to genuine people.

Hope you're all well 8)

I've pm'd a few of you with my MSN if you ever fancy a chat; if anyone else wants an extra friend just 'hit me up'.

Cheers

Hi Kit, I'd be very interested in both, I was picked up by a mental health nurse in Widnes, next to Runcorn, for aspergers and with his help I have been refered for yet another Psyche assesement. Who is this guy in Runcorn? I've been intouch with Liverpool aspergers team, but they are very limited ie got to be in liverpool postcode to get any sense.

I look forward to chatting
