Hiya everyone.

I'm a 19 year old girl from New Zealand, and was diagnosed with AS when I was 12.

I've always known I was different, but I've manged to work on issues such as social awkwardness, and OCD's, and have come very far since I was little.

I work as a waitress, and study the Bachelor of computing systems. I enjoy it to an extent, but enjoy being with the people more than the actual subject.

I hope to get into the graphic design/advertising industy.

I'm an extremely opinionated person, and rather blunt at times, when I see behaviour that I think is stupid.

My interests include:

Drawing (mainly cartoons)
Reading (Harry Potter Rocks!)
Star gazing
LOVE science
Weather
mendelin(sp) genetics
The universe
Animals
My friends
Going out
Nintendo!! !! !! !

Welcome! I knew right away from your username that you were into astronomy.

yep, it rocks! I chose the comet hale bopp for a name because it sounds really cool - and lets people know of my love for all things in the universe.

Comets in particular, but I don't know many names of black holes that sound cool

If I ever get a kitten I want to call it hale bopp.

But it really doesn't count, since you can probably guess mine at a glance. one of my pastimes on this site is guessing avatars that people uplink from other sites.

I am Archmage. I'm thirteen years of age, and i live in America (Memphis, Tennessee, to be precise). i was diagnosed w/ AS when i was very little (five, i think)

I am also into drawing anime (assuming that's what you mean by cartoons), and i am a big-time fan of J.K. Rowling (although i havent read any of the books in a while, because i know the first five books by heart, and the sixth hasn't come out yet ). i have also read the Artemis Fowl books by Eoin Colfer, the Guardians of Ga'hoole series by Kathryn Lasky, and The Seventh Tower series by Garth Nix. I am also a big Star Wars fan, and have seen all the current movies and read three of the books.

I am also into meteorology, and i like astronomy a little bit. i have a knack for guessing the ETA (estimated time of arrival) and the intensity of approching storms just by looking at the clouds. one time, when i was visiting family in Florida, i saw your namesake passing by Earth. i was too young to remember the details, though.

And my whole family is into nature. sometimes we take hikes into the wilderness, to see the sights. i love hikes like this, but if they last too long i can get a little whiny. usually that's only in the harder hikes, or when we get lost.

And of course, what life is complete without NINTENDO!! !! my all time favorite is The Legend of Zelda (which explains my avatar), but i like Poke'mon too, espcially Ruby/Sapphire Version. i have a Nintendo 64 and a GBA-SP. what consoles do you have?

Comet Hale-Bopp.... That brings back memories. I remember during the early morning hours of March 27, 1997, going outside an looking at it in the north eastern sky.

It was my first, and to date, only comet I've seen.

If I can survive to 2062, I can see Haley's comet also!

I'm reading through the series again for about the 6th time, and upto the goblet of fire. A great read.
