greetings everybody,

just thought i'd say hi.
I haven't been diagnosed by a specialist (where are they anyway?) but now that i've heard of AS it's like my strange world finally has an explanation, not that i will share it outside the internet but it feels good to finally understand myself after 24 years!

Not sure what I'm supposed to say here. I'm an ecologist who loves rats and spends a lot of time reading ingredients on food boxes or shampoo bottle. just your average girl

i'm open to questions :)

I just saw on the national news, CNN, that researchers found that LAUGHTER in rats has shown to have an anti-depressant affect... I had to laugh, myself...how does a reseach scientist study laughter in rats? Did a researcher tickle each rat in this medical study? Since you love rats, maybe you can tell me...

It makes you wonder too, how did they ever get a grant to do this research study...??

more like they stroked them and they liked it :)
it might explain why i like being around my rat ^^ it just feels good to have him on my shoulder, washing, sleeping, or making sounds :)

well that's a way better study than injecting useless cosmetics in a rabbit's eye if you ask me... my passion for rats now has a scientific explanation! and suddenly i'm "normal"

Hi French_Lola! Welcome to WP. Congratulations on you diagnosis - I hope it answers lots of questions for you. Do you by chance have Tony Attwood's book, 'The Complete Guide to Asperger's Syndrome'? I've found ti really insightful. It's making sense of so many things.

hi happy music!
thanks for your kind message.
I do not have this book and after checking the price, I can say i'll never have it  i'm kind of cheap.
also i'm more into fiction, well not too fiction-y or i'm bored and rolling my eyes. it has to seem real :)

ps: i'd be very interested in novels involving one or several Aspies though :)

What's the difference between a mouse and a rat?
