Hi all. I am Linda, not sure if I fit in here but here it goes (I also posted this in the general section)
I am 26. I don't have close friends. I had one close friend in high school and other people I would call associates. I hate parties or any kind of social gathering.
I hate shopping when the store is busy. I have never been into trends. I like to wear what is comfortable. Certain textures I cannot stand.
I was diagnosed with ADHD and medicated because in school I could not sit still. At home with just my family I was fine, but at school with all the kids was a bit much. Even when people would come over to visit I would start feeling like I just had to release some energy or I would burst.
Even today I get very anxious when there are too many people around. I can handle a few but not much more than that.
I never had a speech delay and hit my developmental milestones on time. Just social things I don't get.
I never got social rules and to this day I am still learning some of them.
And eye contact makes me feel so uncomfortable.

My son was diagnosed with autism and that got me doing research. I guess I finally started noticing that I did display alot of autism traits and started reading more on aspergers. Does it sound like I could have aspergers?

Welcome, Linda, to the Wrong Planet neighborhood. Yes, it sounds to me as though you might be on the autism spectrum.

Welcome to WP, and I think you are an AS-AD/HD "hybrid" like me. I am glad I have both AD/HD and AS, as opposed to just having one of the two. I feel more "normal" in a way, because AS and AD/HD tend to be opposites of each other (thus, balancing each other out). Just that unless you know how to work with both, it's more of a challenge than just having one of the two. I play the "kill two birds with one stone" game, meaning if I can be involved in activities which help with both - then I do it.

For example, let me use the one time I played wheelchair basketball.
AD/HD - allows me to burn energy off, and hyperfocus on playing defense in a wheelchair (although I am not close to being wheelchair bound)
AS - allows me to socially interact with others playing wheelchair basketball.
