hi everyone, my name is kit and my daughter is suspected of being on the autistic spectrum. I have tried to post a hello message twice before but cant find them so i dont think it worked if this is a repeat post sorry. I am trying to figure out what is different about my daughter and appreciate as much info as possible. She is a very sweet 6 year old who is just different, she learns different and acts different which is all good in our family cause we are all a little weird lol. However the school is having a very hard time with her. I have been reading the complete guide to aspergers syndrom, I am about half done. I do beilieve her asessment will tell me that she has high functioning autism. The book has made me think hard about having myself, husband and other children asessed as well as we all show some symptoms of it. Any info or comments are welcome, as info seems to be my only way of dealing with this.

Get her to a specialist. Get an official diagnosis. DEMAND the school began I.E.P. now -- (Individual Education Plan). They are required to by law, so that your child can actually go to school, learn and enjoy the experience.

Your child must get the examination / diagnosis asap, it will make everything better for you, your child, the school and classmates when I.E.P is completed and your child is situated in a routine that becomes comfortable... and enjoy going to school. There is one thing an Aspergers child does not like, and that's a change of routine... often leads to a meltdown.
