hi there. scooby here. i am an aspie. and 27. and a guy. from new york.

ok now that, that is out of the way. i was a member for a long time at AFF.
i am sure there are some who are from both groups.
i did not have any issues with the people there as a whole, but the place was run by hypocrites.
they were supportive of everything i said, until i brought the fact i am an evangelical christian into a discussion.
according to the admin there, my religion is hateful and bigoted.
so here i am. hoping for better acceptance.
if you do not like what my religion states, your best to put me on ignore now.
i am not afraid to state exactly what we believe in my religion,
and will never hesitate to do so.
HOWEVER, i will not interject myself into your threads and declare you to be this or that.
i have never done that, and never will. you are free to discuss whatever you want.
unless you ask for opinions on such and such a thing, i will not offer it.
and i ask for the same in return.

SO, if i start a conversation on how great i think God is, i don't care if you think God is the devil.
its not your thread, its mine. and staying on topic is a great rule, and a way to show respect to people.

WE have been bullied enough in our lives (can't speak for everyone) and this is no place to tear each other apart.
so i ask you respect my beliefs, and restrain yourselves from interjecting your unsolicited, off topic, responses.
i will return the favor.

thank you,
josh

i have been professionally diagnosed as of 2009. it was missed in school, and i was in special ed for persons with
behavioral issues. of course not being diagnosed almost killed me. florescent lighting was one of the causes of my
lashing out. even to this day, if i am not wearing sunglasses indoors with bright lighting, i get irritable. it puts me on a hair trigger. the doctor says she has never seen anyone with 4 senses affected. only smell is normal for me.

well thats me, i hope to be a productive member of this forum for a long time to come.

Welcome to WP! great to have you here. Look forward to reading your posts. 8)

Also, if you post a thread on WP, you can't stop people from replying with their opinions so I would suggest you stay away from talking about god if you're going to get upset w/ people disagreeing with you . In other words, don't make a topic about your religion expecting everyone to agree with you because it will just create a flame war.

a bit more about me with photos...

my obsessions are technology, and motor powered anything.
i have had many high power toys over the years, and keep my fleet going even now.
my current toys are, a viper, a big cruiser boat, and a new ATV.
as far as tech, i keep building my own PC's, although i do not have as much time for them now as i once did.
i have been known to build my water cooled rig every few years.
feel free to browze my photobucket.... and here are some to start with:

will post photos after 5 days and 5 posts.... lol

welcome to the wrong dimension. (too many spectrums to fit on just one planet imo XD)

as long as you dont shove beliefs into people faces I am fine with it. People should be able to believe in what they want to believe in. And yeah, ill give ya respect, as long as things stay peaceful XD.

(ignore me, I am the random no-body on here)

I'd enjoy reading the thread you speak of. There's one thing I love and that's being an equal opportunity critic of both radical Atheists and Theists, alike.

You shouldn't be so sensitive. Really, the good Lord is too big for this, and while you're getting bent out of shape, God is getting a chuckle out of people's ignorance.

Q: Who did Jesus rail against?
Q: Who murdered Jesus?
A: The hateful, hypocritical bigoted religious establishment.

Sometimes, Atheists and Agnostics have reasonable points, other times they are blinded by their own narrow views.

I prefer to only read legitimate debates (not always so though, sadly, I can point out numerous examples where both radical Theists and radical Atheists LIE), otherwise, I consider it challenging questions and intellectual stimulation where questions are raised about biblical meanings/interpretation. Valid questions. Most Theists, honestly have no understanding of their own Bible and have little to bring to the debate (I confirmed this fact in the Baptist church I attended in 2000, when I raised the question with the Sunday school teacher, "Have you actually read the Bible?" to which he replied, "No." I asked, "Then how do you know its the Word of God?"

"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God..."- Hosea 4:6

Average theist rebuttal to the Bible: "If it doesn't have to do with Salvation, it doesn't matter."

Mind you, I am a Christian but only recently, after a long haul through theological studies from numerous perspectives (raised similar to judaism, then a few years as a pagan/deist, to "blind faith" christian seeking answers and did not get answers from the church establishment and saw where they lied or refused to discuss truths, so I rejected it, and years followed as a Deist railing against religion... then when waking to see how Atheists and Agnostics had deceived me as well... therefore, at the end, I went through a period of re-embracing the faith (a few years ago). Years spent amidst atheists and agnostics. The majority of my life was spent as a non-Christian / non-believer, and knowledge understanding why people lose belief. I find legitimate theology debates of interest, but occasionally run on some who use dishonest tactics.. both atheist and theist. I don't become emotionally wrapped up in their bickering, as I use to, because neither side merits a defense, due to their hypocrisy.

But yes, when you read the Bible... you'll come away with pretty much the same conclusion as atheists for the same reasons why Jesus was so infuriated with the hypocritical, bigoted, and hate-filled religious establishment of the day.
I tend to see things from every side, and no side is innocent of hypocrisy.

Anyway, welcome. Image

thats interesting, i ran into a few fringe cults myself in the line of finding God.
it can be hard with the ones that are very close to the truth.
they show you the bible verses that support their view.
it can be difficult to tell them apart.
you really have to know the words of the bible.
i found that the grace brethren churches had it right.

thou i was baptized in a baptist church.
evangelicals are different from other groups such as Catholics for the fact every church can have its different views. however they tend to stick to core beliefs.
one argument in churches is eternal security,
where once saved can someone be unsaved.
another argument is predetermination, and its role.
those are two of the arguments that people personally can decide what they believe,
however the salvation message does not change.

i encourage you if you are interested to go read it, it turned into a name calling event about 4 pages in.
i did not change my name when i came here, i am not ashamed of what i said.

Post the link. I'm not familiar with the other site you're speaking of, but I'll read that thread.

I've heard good reviews of Wrong Planet. I've had friendly experience here, up to this point. That's why I sought out this site when I learned all my children had Aspergers and realizing positive conversations with people of like-mind would be a good outlet.

Welcome and I hope you enjoy your time on W.P.
