Hi!

I was recently diagnosed with Asperger (I'm 23) and I joined this community to meet other 'Aspies' (as I see we are often called). I'm from a non-English speaking country, so excuse my possible errors :) Even though I'm used to writing in English because I've been active on the internet for a long time.
I didn't want to join a forum from my own country because I don't want people to read my posts and think: 'hey, isn't that...?'.

Anyway, looking forward to reading the topics here.

Take care,
Eve01

Wow... you're better with English grammar and punctuation than a lot of people in America and other English-speaking countries.

Welcome fellow Aspie Image

Welcome to Wrong Planet.

If you hadn't mentioned it, I wouldn't have thought that you were foreign-- I found no fault with your grammar and punctuation.

I completely agree. It is difficult to be honest under the cloak of anonymity when there is a larger chance that those you know will connect you and your account. At some level though, isn't it just paranoia: The internet has tens of millions of websites, and this site has hundreds of users. How would they connect the two if you didn't tell them?

Thank you all for the kind replies :) And for the comments about my English grammar skills ;) It's good to know I'm appearantly still sufficient at English!

Yes, I'm just overly cautious ;) I have searched for forums from my country and I was shocked at how few I could find. Then I made the conclusion that *if* someone I know would be looking at Asperger forums, the chance would be relatively large that they would read my posts. (Then again, there is still a large chance they wouldn't recognise it's me!). And I'm also happy with the amount of people there are here - posting in a community with 5 members seems rather pointless ;)

Take care!
