Hi all

I'm 17 and I live in Belgium (in the past, I have lived in France and the U.S. as well).

I only recently discovered that I am an aspie. Until I did, I thought that my social problems were caused by some erring on my part or that there was something 'wrong' with me. It was reassuring to find that my problems (socially and emotionally) and some of my characteristics were due to AS.

I have never been to school which, I think, has made it easier for me to cope.

I have not been diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome but my mum and I both are nearly positive that I am an Aspie.

Hey, welcome here!

The diagnosis for Aspergers' can be a difficult one, it could also be a related thing. But reading here on the fora can be a big help and explain a lot of things.

A bit of curiosity: Did you get home-schooled?

Welcome to WP. I visited Belgium last year,spending a few days in Brussels. It's a great city and any country that specialises in beers and chocolates is ok with me

@Asterisp: it was more like unschooling but with more 'encouragement' from my mum and more structure.
