Hello everybody. I just registered here and wanted to greet everyone. I've not been officially diagnosed with AS but the counselor I see is convinced I have it. I went to "couple's counseling" with my wife in an attempt to save our marriage of eight years and it was a huge revelation to learn about AS from it. My counselor's unofficial diagnosis pretty much explains the root of nearly all our marital issues. Unfortunately, I am probably the least compatible person type for my wife's NT personality. Our counselor explained how hard and long it would be for us to learn to coexist happily together and my ol' lady has already expended all she had to offer over the past eight years trying to make our marriage work whilst I "wouldn't wake up" and now she's done with it all. We have three beautiful children and four doggies. I've served in the military for the past ten years. A part of my job description is communications expert, which is pretty funny because I am anything but. I was nicknamed "the king of awkward" at work and everyone I know just thinks of me as being weird. I do get along well with my job and have a few friends and I think most people like me. My passion is filmmaking. I love movies, especially horror films. I'm also big into Norse mythology and polar bears. Sorry to get somewhat long-winded here... Hello everybody! I look forward to corresponding and interacting with many of you on this forum. From what I've seen already, this is a really wonderful place filled with a lot of wonderful, interesting people and I am happy to be here :D

Welcome... Your life can feel like science fiction for a while; it has for me.

So, I planned an AS coming out party. I have it scheduled for next month. It gives me an opportunity to explain to friends and family what my world is like and how I experience things... also helps to give them some idea of why I've done the strange things I've done (and plan on continuing to do!)
