Hi.
Well... I get kind of tired of trying to describe myself to people, doctors, lawyers, judges, etc.
I was officially diagnosed with Asperger's back in 2003 after having read Stephen Baxter's Manifold series. One of the main characters is described as having Asperger's. Then I ran across it a short while later in a non-fiction book I read. Over the years my diagnosis has changed slightly, but is currently PPD-NOS. I have also been diagnosed with other ailments such as dysthymia and major depressive disorder (together known as 'double depression'). Also recently it has become apparent that my 'social awkwardness' might be more severe than I have previously given it credit for. I've also come to the conclusion recently that I might not be as 'high functioning' as many believe.
Personally, I am male, 38. It took me 9 years to eventually earn a BA in Anthropology. I tend to focus on a subject/object for a few months at a time and then abruptly drop it for something else. I used to spend most of my time playing various mmorpgs (by myself), but have recently stopped. Currently researching my family genealogy again with out any real zeal. Watch a bit of TV. Favorite shows right now are Lost (it's over ) and Weeds (watched all 5 seasons in the last week). My social interactions are pretty much limited to a couple of internet forums and my mother, who takes me to dinner a couple nights a week to make sure I'm eating and to get me outside. I have 2 dogs, a black lab I've had since she was a puppy and a boxer/pit mix that I 'inherited' from my sister a few months ago.
Well... that's more than I expected to say. So, once again...
Hi.
