Hello all.
I am new to this site and have recently begun using it for research on myself. A while back my significant other's mother gave me a book called "Look Me in the Eye." (I think she suspected something I had never really thought of.) Anyway, I read it and almost everything about it hit home. I have been doing a little research off and on and stumbled upon this website. Browsing through the various chat topics I have found many more similarities and even took one of those fun little quizzes, though I am not sure how much scientific credibility they have. I have not been diagnosed with AS, nor am I self diagnosing, since I don't think I can do that in any sort of objective manner. I have been in a pretty amazing relationship for almost four years now with the girl of my dreams and have only screwed it up occasionally with bouts of anxiety/anger in which I had no idea how to verbalize in a rational manner (never violent though, just have to break contact and isolate myself for a bit). As for work, well, that's a sensitive subject since my job would frown (putting it mildly) on a AS diagnosis, so I am treading very lightly. Would be a bit of a bummer if I lost 11 years of my career before I could finish out the last nine and retire. Anyway, I felt that gaining an account here and introducing myself would be the polite thing to do; after all, I read the thoughts that you type on here and analyze/compare them. Nice to meet you all
