Hi everyone. I 'm doing the hello message right now to formally do the right steps to be on Wrong Planet. I've know about the site for a while and didn't join. Mostly, I was busy dealing with my own diagnoses, which started at bipolar and eventually switched to borderline personality disorder. I read about aspergers when I was looking into different mental health things. Mostly, when I first read about it, I thought, "yeah, those are the nerdy guys that I enjoy being friends with (and know that other people judge).".
After a few years, the thoughts about aspergers changed, because I realized that my husband fit into the AS.
Then, 3 yrs later (a year ago), I realized that it all made even more sense because I turned out to be one of those females who fits into that "high-functioning" category. I'd probably get diagnosed into the PDD NOS category because I've mostly been able to stay in school, keep my jobs, and pay my bills.

Well... that's starting to change (paying bills and keeping jobs). Did I do this mental health self-examination because I'm having trouble keeping my life together? Or is this examination the result of my life gradually falling apart and my ability to keep up the facade having finally crumbled??

I'm not sure.

But, now I'm weary of the world again. I'm back on a discussion forum group (Wrong Planet this time, versus depression forums). Mostly, I think I'm interested in lurking and seeing how other people view themselves in this big, complex world.

I've got strong personal opinions about genetic components to this situation. I also know I am affected by environmental inputs. I'm curious about what others think/feel/believe, and I was wanting to look through discussions here to get a sense for it. I'm also very interested in reading the discussions that are for members-only. I'm 40yrs old. I've been doing a lot of "doing". I'm interested in the deeper discussions. I've moved past "what's going on here?" and I'm exhausted of trying to justify my existence.

Maybe in the future I'll be more interested in dialogues with people who are on this site. I hope I will be (because that'll mean I've cycled back into a more inclusive frame-of-mind. Right now I'm very paranoid, defensive; and, well, exhausted of it all.).

Oh yeah, hi. Nice to meetchall.

Being able to do these things (and being on the spectrum) doesn't mean you have PDD NOS; I have been and am able to do those things too and I have Asperger's Syndrome.

Anyway, enjoy your stay on the Wrong Planet!
