Hi I'm a 45 year old female. I have a 20 year old son. I FEEL like an Aspie, but I don't know for sure.

I have always struggled socially - never understanding what to do - and finding it all so strange!! !

I have decided to accept that 'I just don't seem to like people'.

I will probably post in the work section next as I'm having a really tough time coping with my job and the most bizarre bunch of people you could ever wish to meet! It's not the tasks that the job involves that are a problem - it's mostly the people and how they dump all over me :evil:

Hi Solo X and welcome to WP.

You'll ready have seen that you have been warmly welcomed here, and you'll also find many opportunity to receive just about all the advice and support that you could wish for.

Have you considered getting a formal diagnosis for AS; have you taken the AQ test that's available on line? I can send you a link if you'd like to take that test.

Being little older than the average here (you're about my age) will present its own particular problems, but have been through the 'process' & discovered WP I am now much better able to accept being who I am

Hi ya Solo X! I don't have offspring of my own, but hopefully that won't be a deterrent to us forming an on-line friendship

Do you mind if I substitute my 17-year-old dog for my "child"?

We are within the same age - I'm six months away from my 45th birthday, so hopefully we've got some common "Generation X" stuff to reminisce over!

Hey, I'm half your age but still in pretty much the same boat & just joined up for similar reasons. It's awesome going from having noone in the world who understands to suddenly finding all these people who can relate to what you feel:)
