After years of going through cyberspace and being on quite a few forums (under many different names), I finally found a place (or as close as I'm gonna get right now) that I may finally be able to relate to a whole lot better. I actually only heard about this site a few days ago when I finally decided to check out more about AS.

Despite only turning 18 a few months ago, I feel like I have gone through a lot in my life. I may not have had to deal with things like jobs (yet), living poor, or other physical things, but emotional, a lot. I took a lot of heat from a lot of things from a lot of people, including family. I don't always feel like the things I took heat from were my fault, but rather just people not accepting the way I feel.

I'm quite tired of dealing with those kind of people who think they control the world and that everyone must comfort to their standards or else. I gotten almost nowhere dealing with these kind of people in the past, both in real life and on the Internet. I felt misunderstood no matter where I gone. I also still have yet to find other groups of people with very similar combination of beliefs as me. Sure I'll find groups with a little or some of what I believe in, but none with nearly everything I believe in. Creating my own website to address this may not have for a long time, if ever.

I'm tired of feeling like I belong nowhere. “If you don't like it, get out!” and go where? Seems like no matter what I did on other websites, I never been very popular. Hopefully, all that changes here. Hopefully, I find the right place. A place where I can feel welcome, accepted, and not an outcast among most other people. Being different has been such a crime in the past I want changed. Here, I hope at the Wrong Planet, I can change these things. Hopefully, I can start my “new life” here.

I could go on and on, but I rather not extend my welcome post too much, but rather just give people a basic idea of what I'm about. If I stay around, expect rants, lots of them, from me.

Doubt I would have gotten this much welcomes at most other websites, so this is a welcome change. Come to think of it, I never really did gone over what I'm into.

There's not a whole lot that I really enjoy doing. I like to play video games a lot and own all the consoles and handhelds that games are still being made for. My PC however isn't really any good when it comes to games and I lack the money to fix that shortcoming right now. I also surf the internet checking out video game websites about half the time and the other half a bunch of other stuff (usually debates over various issues). Of course, I didn't get any shortage of "Get a life" and other comments telling me something is wrong with what I enjoy, just because I usually don't enjoy "normal" stuff. Of course, I'm sure most of y'all around here knows what that is like.

Welcome to the Wrong Planet! :D And yep, I know exactly what you mean. I'm the only one in my family who likes what I'm into, and my sisters and parents are constantly telling me I need to get out more, since I don't particularly like to socialise. Well, I think you should just do whatever you enjoy, since it's your life after all. :) Anyway, hope you enjoy it here! :D

I'm also new to this site, and like yourself, am really hopeful.(???) ...same here with dealing with people who have already decided how and what's gonna be!! It's not just the USA though, I've traveled to many places on 'this' planet, and find that it's a human trait we don't seem to share. I have AS and feel certain that my 16 year old son does too.

I can relate to what you have written,I too took a lot of heat, especially at school.I didn't behave very well there, which was a source of many conflicts, especially in the last five years.
I know how tiring it can be to deal with people who think they can control the world and don't act according to the principles of mutual respect and tolerance.
I hope at least here you will find some kind of a home, being together with people who welcome you in their group.
