Hi,

My name’s Steve, I’m 27 and I live in England.

The reason I’m here is because I don’t think I have aspergers syndrome!
Or if I do then it’s only very mildly, but I certainly share some of the traits.
The most frustrating is finding it difficult to communicate with other people, and form intimate friendships or relationships with people.
While I don’t particularly look at the posts on a forum like this, and find myself ‘fitting in’, I can empathize with certain things like, sensory overload or awkwardness or slight obsessions. I’m also very visually biased, I think, and I can find a paint surface, say, or coloured plasticine very sensually stimulating.

I would really like to chat/exchange emails with any one from England or Wherever who sympathizes with me.
(By the way I’m young, gifted and single, and would love to find somebody!)

Emu Egg is your current "rank." As you accumulate posts you will called something else. The board admin(s). name them.

Hi,
Well Steve I can say in my experience with Aspergers you could be a high-functioning aspergers. Which you have most of the capability to function in society but you still have some of the symptoms of aspergers. Part of aspergers is difficulty with social skills which can make it difficult to communicate and form relationships( like understanding subtle social cues or subtle body language). But it could also benefit you to be tested because you might or might not have aspergers and it would benefit to actually know. For me I can do pretty good in everyday situations but I don't have great social ability to create relationships but I try a lot. It can be a struggle but I know that this is my life so I have to give it my all to create a suitable life. But overall at the end of the day it doesn't matter what you have, its what you do with it that matters.

Hullo! Welcome to WP. There's quite a big British contingent here so you'll be in good company.

Have a fruitful stay. :)

Not only did he join in '04, he posted this in '04. Look at the time and date of the first post in this thread.
