Are there any aspies that enjoy to run, like in crosscountry or track? I love to run.

Running and listening to my iPod is something I look forward to at least twice a week.

I keep my runs less than 20 minutes because I read your body starts using muscle mass after that point.

I also lift heavy weights once a week and eat healthy.

I love running. When it starts getting warm outside, I get antsy and need to move around. Hopefully, within the next couple of weeks, it'll be warm enough. :D

Back when I had free time (pre-cubicle) I used to go running every other day. I live in SoCal so sometimes I'd go to a park in the city and jog among the snazzy natives with their colorful ipods, beeping heartrate monitors, and handsfree cell phones, and other times I'd drive up to Griffith and run up a hiking trail. Now I don't have much time so I just do alot of cardio at L.A. Fitness (health club).

I first got into it in high school. I found that though I didn't have very much raw power or speed, I had crazy endurance. Back then I could run forever. I liked it alot because sometimes while running for a long time I'd feel really detached.

I've never been too keen as I've been told I run in a strange manner - not sure in exactly what way, but when I was at school the other kids loved to remind me. I had a girlfriend once who liked to run. She insisted I join her ; so, I made sure we went at night so nobody would laugh .

I've just thought... I must borrow a video camera and record myself running to finally see what's so funny.

I ran funny and was made fun of. My son also thinks he's running normally, but he looks quite odd. I think that's what I must have looked like too - I thought I was a terrific runner. It's like Abe from Abe's Odessey.

I'm still embarrased to do anything physical.

I wish I could run. My feet are really bad. I do bicycle around 100 miles a week though. I love doing that. I do single track and old rail trails.

Tere... my feet are also bad... pinched nerves in the ball of my feet, very bad tendonitis and bunions. What's your foot problem? Maybe I can offer good advice.

I run with a strange gait, too. I walk perfectly fine, but I run flat-footed. I don't roll through my feet. I've been told that I don't run properly because when I was a baby, I only crawled for about two weeks. Developmental problems... .

I like to run. I'll get bursts of energy out of nowhere and have to run for a few hundred feet.

It's kinda hard not to do this on campus as it's pretty embarrising and weird to other people, so I only run now when there's no one else around. I'll also jump and twirl around and s**t. I've also noticed that when I'm outside and there's no one else around while I'm smoking a cigarette, I'll bounce on my feet like crazy or walk around in a tight circle. I didn't even notice that I did that until one day it snowed and I saw the circle of my footprints in the snow. When there's other people around, I become too self concious and stand there while my body feels like it's going to burst with nervous energy.

Also to other people talking about their feet being screwed up, so are mine. They don't have pinched nerves or anything but the balls of my feet will start hurting really bad whenever I run for a while or do a lot of physical activity cuz of my REALLY high arches. It sucks.

My son's occupational therapist, when I addressed his Phys. Ed. issues, told me that he has muscle groups that work fine and others that don't. He walks pretty normally, and when I was a girl I didn't even do that right. I slumped forward at the shoulders and held my hands in this sort of limp wristed zombie-esque posture. Very strange.

I always feel wobbly, like I'm going to fall down. Even before I wore clogs, and if I walk barefoot (which is REALLY hard to do), I feel like I'll just fall forward. I really do have to be careful because if I don't pay strict attention to what I'm doing, I really will fall.

Bicycle riding turned out to be the best exercise I ever got, but it was hard on my feet in some ways too.

Hi Aspiegirl,

I´m running long distance for the last 14 years.
There have been times running was quite an obsession for me.
I did run the marathon 11 times, but nowadays the longest distance I run is the 1/2 marathon.
I like this sport because you can do it all by your self. In the weekends I run for about two hours. I would like to run more often, but I can´t combine running with my work anymore.

I always hated team-sports. I remember at school when teams had to be chosen I always was one of the last ones to be chosen. The only sport I did like a litle bit was volleybal, because players have their own place and are not moving in all directions. Also I can´t keep control of a ball.
