I too suffered from the same weak southern US education system. I have also had significant problems with my handwriting. Prior to learning about the possibility I had AS, I lost my dream job mostly due to the handwriting, but some of the other aspects of AS played a role too. I completely understand your frustration and if you'd like to compare notes then look me up on the forums or PM me.
