Since it is customary to announce one's arrival, I am doing so.

Curious if anyone knows of a website that is helpful in teaching guitar, and music in general to the autistic?

Looking for something along the HFA or Asperger spectrum. Needs to be visual or auditory as traditional ways of learning music, and guitar are not working. It is enjoyed very much to play what little can be played, but very eager to learn more.

Hello Keme, Philip Hemo has a wonderful classical guitar work book for beginning guitar with CD. I am not certain if this will help. Philip was my daughter's music instructor for classical guitar. He also was a University of Arizona Professor. My daughter was playing beautiful classical music in no time at all. Infact, I have been thinking about buying a nice guitar and buying his workbook w/ CD and start learning classical guitar myself. I hope to see you in the forums. :)

HI- welcome to WP! I cant help you with the musical instruction part. If my daughter decides to seriously study guitar and I find beginner programs I will let you know. My daughter is an NT, though.

Thank you all for your welcome!

Did a search for Philip Hemo on Google, didn't get anything. Do you have a link or anything?

My bad Keme, I spelled his name wrong. It's Philip Hemmo the name of the book is Beginning Classroom Guitar book with CD-ROM. I hope that helps. I mentioned to Philip that I was also interested in studying the guitar, he showed me sections of his book explaining how I could follow the instructions easily. Good Luck! :)
