Just a short introduction from your latest member
I am really happy to see that such a community exists - it is probably the only place where I can truly be myself without being afraid of doing something wrong.
You see... I live in Bulgaria, a country where people aren't quite tolerant towards those who are different. They consider people like us to be nothing more than regular "madmen" who need to be locked up in an institution. In fact, it's pretty common to hear a parent telling a child to stay away from autists or aspies. "Don't touch them or you'll become like them."
Obviously, I had to learn how to hide my condition. That was the only way to survive in an environment, which was pretty brutal during the 1990's. I learned to imitate the "normal" behavior of others, to stay unnoticed, to pretend to be happy. Despite all that I was still always famous as the "weird guy" in all my years at school. The common joke among my classmates was that I had escaped from an asylum...
So, I definitely know how it feels like to be on the Wrong Planet... I'm glad to be here.
Hello, everyone!
