Hello to everyone reading this.
Let me introduce myself: My name is Alex, I'm 15, and I'm from the north of the UK. My main interest is politics (I'm an activist) but I also enjoy reading, live music, and karate. I also like to have fun cooking, but I don't have many technical culinary abilities.
I have recently been diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome following sessions with a psychiatrist regarding depression. Throughout my life I have struggled with symptoms of aspergers, especially social communication difficulties, but I thought it was normal to have issues when it comes to social situations. I can deal with obligatory conversation, and I only sometimes have trouble discussing something with like-minded people, so I wouldn't say that the problems I face are particularly severe.
Since I've had aspergers all my life, the diagnosis hasn't really affected me much. To me, it is just a name to put to little quirks of mine. However, I am curious to gather more information on Asperger's syndrome , and I'd also like to talk with other people with the same condition.
Thanks for reading my introduction, and I look forward to the time I spend here.
