Just so you know, I will expect anyone talking with me to adhere to the following discussion principles, no exceptions. I've been thwarted and frustrated, so just know you well what's anticipated:

Noitartst's Debating Principles

1. Always answer the question according to the question.

2. The emotion behind the question never excuses mistreating the question.

3. If you ask hard questions, expect nothing less from others, as per the Golden Rule.

4. Building a compliance ladder of questions is more than acceptable.

5. The question not only has complete power to frame the debate, but also to set the tempo.

6. Stonewalling is the gravest, most disrespectful, most cowardly act commitable.

7. The goal is to scourge anything less than brutal honesty out of your opponent, just as he is to scourge it out of you, and thereby attain the common ground.

Guess you can tell I've been a little irritated by wussies out there, but oh well.

I'm having a little trouble getting past no. 1. What's the question?

The question could be anything. For instance, if I I said, "Should she have done that?" and someone stated, "You need to forgive," that would be rude, because that had nothing to do with the question. That has happened to me, and yes, I needed to forgive, but that was still rude, and that was what drove me crazy. Here, under these rules, such b***h slaps are prohibited.

When I take the time to give a detailed, thoughtful question, I simply don't want someone walking all over it, which has happened. No more!
