Hey all! My name is Kat and I'm a n00b here. Looking to get more information and maybe make some friends. I am not diagnosed, but I'm pretty sure that I have been struggling with AS for years. Lots of things about it really just make sense! Anyway, more about me...
I am 28 and working to get a career in information technology. I love music and play several instruments. I listen to a lot of things, but really love organic stuff, like folk and world music. Electronics just can't recreate the resonance of an acoustic instrument, but I still blast electronica when I'm driving sometimes.
I do a lot of design stuff, that's mostly based in personal interests, but I've been slowly starting to build a portfolio doing free work for non-profits. I'm actively working with a local GBLT organization to produce their constant contacts and mailers and love it. I like tinkering with computers, learning programming languages (I'm VERY novice, but still like the challenge), and making websites. I am really wanting to learn more about Linux and eventually, break into information security and ethical hacking. That will be a long time from now though.
I maintain a website/portfolio that is very much a work-in-progress and hope to finally have a few things up in a make-shift gallery sometime very soon, as my portfolio is growing. I just revamped my site, so things are still under construction. I am passively writing a children's book as well, and this site will be the place where I can post illustrations and poems as I create them. To summarize this project, I like monsters. A lot.
