I like all your names. MissConstrue is my current favorite.

I'm new here, as the title says. I found out about Asperger's about ten years ago, and it so perfectly explained what was wrong with me that I've been trying to successfully diagnose myself with it since. Most days I'm convinced I'm an Aspie, but some days I'm just sure I'm a jerk (in the old Steve Martin sense, although he seems pretty Aspie'd out himself in that movie).

I like message boards because on them I don't usually seem like I have anything wrong with me. I can mostly fit in with the people on them. Plus, you have time to look over what everyone has said and what you've said to make sure you haven't really bungled everything up. And when you do bungle everything up, a few PMs can usually fix it! Unlike in the real world, where one or two awkwardly-phrased sentences can bring an entire conversation to a grinding halt. :-/

And... that's my intro! Hello.

I'm new here as well and since I'm engaged to Gotholympians, I thought I'd piggy back on his intro thread.

I am self-diagnosed with Asperger's. I'm not concerned about an "official" diagnosis, anymore than I feel I need a doctor to tell me that I'm queer. I know my brain, body, and emotions better than anybody else does, so I figure I'm the best authority on me.

Anyhoo... I thought I was a "normal," albeit broken, person until a couple years ago when I found out about AS and it explained all the mysterious weird stuff about me that hadn't made *any* sense at all before.

I don't really like message board formats, but I'm gonna try to use this site anyway. I'd use the blog function here, but I've already devoted 3 years to building up another blog and I write on 2 others, so I don't think I can maintain another one.

I guess that's enough rambling... bye!
